Head Accountant (Remote, Part‑Time)

About the role

The Head Accountant will lead all core accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and robust internal controls. This fully remote, part‑time position requires an organized professional with strong technical knowledge and leadership abilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and financial record‑keeping.
• Lead preparation and review of periodic financial statements and management reports.
• Review general ledger entries, reconciliations, invoices, expenses, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash transactions, and other accounting functions.
• Maintain effective accounting controls and identify potential financial or process risks.
• Coordinate with management, auditors, external advisors, and internal stakeholders.
• Investigate accounting discrepancies and ensure prompt resolution.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
• Recommend improvements to accounting procedures, reporting processes, and financial controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of professional experience in accounting or financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, general ledger processes, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense and cash management.
• Familiarity with financial controls, audit processes, budgeting and management reporting.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities remotely.
