Lead Accounts Officer

About the role

The Lead Accounts Officer will support the Head of Accounts Payable in planning, reviewing and analysing the function, while managing relationships with internal customers and vendors. The role ensures timely processing of payment requests and drives improvements in the accounts payable process.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for all Accounts Payable inquiries and approve payments efficiently.
• Monitor dashboards, vendor balances, aged payables and outstanding advances, providing data for analysis.
• Maintain accurate records, reconcile vendor statements and employee expenses, and resolve discrepancies.
• Escalate critical matters to the Head of Accounts Payable and Finance Director.
• Coordinate with IT for system automation and improve reporting quality.
• Develop and implement Accounts Payable policies, train staff and support audits.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar Accounts Payable role.
• Semi‑Qualified Chartered Accountant, B.Com/M.Com or equivalent qualification.
• Proven ability to lead a team of accountants.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with vendors and suppliers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Arabic.
