Maintenance Operations Control Manager

About the role

The Maintenance Operations Control Manager acts as the central liaison between the maintenance department and all operational units, ensuring aircraft are returned to service safely and efficiently. This role supports line supervisors in planning defect rectification, scheduled and preventative maintenance, and drives high dispatch reliability for the airline.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate AOG aircraft return to service, maintaining safety compliance and efficiency.
• Liaise with Planning and Network Operations Control to optimise maintenance decisions against daily flight schedules.
• Ensure completion of scheduled maintenance in line with the Approved Maintenance Program.
• Monitor and close defects under the Minimum Equipment List, maintaining MEL compliance.
• Use reliability data to track repetitive defects and provide troubleshooting support.
• Manage on‑board fly‑away kits to minimise service interruptions.
• Organise third‑party outstation support and act as primary contact for defect resolution.
• Chair and minute daily Maintenance Operations meetings to address technical issues.
• Submit service requests to Type Certificate Holders and OEMs on behalf of the AMO.

Required profile

• Proven experience in aircraft maintenance coordination or operations control.
• Strong understanding of AOG processes and dispatch reliability metrics.
• Ability to work closely with multiple internal departments and external service providers.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a focus on safety and compliance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AOG (Aircraft on Ground) procedures.
• Familiarity with MEL (Minimum Equipment List) compliance and defect tracking.
• Experience in maintenance planning and coordination.
