Manager of Strategic Planning and Business Development

About the role

The Manager of Strategic Planning and Business Development will turn CIBAFI’s strategic objectives into concrete institutional priorities and actionable work plans. Reporting to senior leadership, the role oversees performance monitoring, cross‑departmental projects, global membership expansion and the development of international partnerships that advance the Islamic financial services industry.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and annual update of work plans while tracking institutional KPIs.
• Develop and implement strategic initiatives in sustainability, digital transformation and market development.
• Drive global membership growth and manage strategic partnership programmes.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulators, international organisations and academic institutions.
• Oversee policy advocacy, publications, technical assistance and the organisation of international events.
• Improve internal processes and ensure compliance with CIBAFI’s governance framework.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Islamic Finance, Economics, Business, Finance, Administration or a related field.
• Three to five years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in project or research coordination within an international environment (preferred).
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English; French is an advantage.
• Strong strategic thinking, public speaking, project management and cross‑cultural communication skills.
• Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted tools for drafting, research synthesis and data analysis.
• Solid understanding of the Islamic financial services industry and its regulatory landscape.
