National Project Coordinator

About the role

The National Project Coordinator will support UNDP Bahrain in delivering high‑impact development interventions that align with Bahrain Vision 2030 and the Government Programme 2023‑2026. The role bridges UNDP’s technical expertise with national priorities across economic prosperity, governance, and environmental sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor national projects under the Country Programme Document 2025‑2029.
• Coordinate with government ministries, donors and UN partners to ensure alignment with the three CPD pillars.
• Prepare project proposals, work plans, budgets and periodic progress reports.
• Track performance indicators, conduct monitoring and evaluation, and recommend corrective actions.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing, capacity‑building activities and policy advisory services.
• Ensure compliance with UNDP rules, procurement guidelines and financial procedures.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in development studies, public administration, economics or a related field.
• Proven experience in coordinating development projects, preferably within a UN or multilateral environment.
• Strong understanding of Bahrain’s development agenda and the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and engage senior stakeholders.
