Operations Engineer – Reverse Osmosis Plant

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Engineer to manage day‑to‑day technical operations of our reverse osmosis desalination plant in Bahrain. The role serves as the primary technical liaison between the customer, the Operations & Maintenance contractor, and the plant owner, ensuring reliable, safe, and compliant water production.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the O&M contractor on all RO desalination processes, including pretreatment, membrane operation, chemical dosing, energy recovery and post‑treatment.
• Monitor and analyse plant performance data such as production rates, recovery, water quality, energy consumption and chemical usage.
• Review contractor reports, maintenance schedules and performance data for accuracy and contractual compliance.
• Troubleshoot operational issues, conduct root‑cause analysis for equipment failures or water‑quality excursions.
• Support permitting, regulatory compliance and reporting activities.
• Assist with contract compliance monitoring, KPI tracking and verification of performance guarantees.
• Provide technical input on capital improvement projects, equipment upgrades and process optimisation.
• Participate in incident investigations, corrective‑action planning and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation, SOPs and as‑built records.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating or supporting reverse osmosis desalination plants.
• Strong technical background in water‑treatment processes and equipment.
• Ability to interpret performance data and contractual specifications.
