Placement Officer – Consumer Insurance

About the role

The Placement Officer for Consumer Lines manages the end‑to‑end placement of retail insurance products such as motor, home, travel and other consumer lines. Acting as the bridge between telesales, insurers and internal operations, the role ensures accurate, timely quotations, policy issuance and renewals while maintaining compliance with underwriting and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify lead submissions, obtain and compare quotations from approved insurers, negotiate terms and confirm placements.
• Process new business, renewals, endorsements and cancellations in the broker management system, ensuring documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Review renewal lists, secure renewal quotations 45 days before expiry, compare terms and coordinate final placement to avoid coverage lapses.
• Maintain strong relationships with insurer underwriting and operations teams, track performance metrics and provide market feedback for product development.
• Ensure all placements follow company policies, support internal audits, and suggest workflow improvements for efficiency and data accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business or a related field.
• Experience in insurance placement, brokerage or related sales functions.
• Good understanding of underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements (e.g., PDPL, CBB).
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication abilities.
