Placement Officer – Consumer Insurance

About the role

The Placement Officer for Consumer Lines manages the end‑to‑end placement of retail insurance products such as Motor, Home, Travel and other consumer lines. Acting as the bridge between telesales, insurers and internal operations, the role ensures accurate, timely issuance and renewal of policies while maintaining compliance with underwriting and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify lead submissions, obtain and compare quotations from approved insurers, and negotiate terms to secure optimal coverage.
• Confirm placements, prepare cover confirmations and ensure policy documents are issued correctly and on schedule.
• Process new business, renewals, endorsements and cancellations in the broker management system, reviewing schedules and certificates for accuracy.
• Maintain renewal trackers, obtain renewal quotations 45 days before expiry and coordinate with sales teams to avoid coverage lapses.
• Develop and sustain strong relationships with insurer underwriting and operations teams, tracking response times and performance metrics.
• Support compliance with PDPL, CBB and internal data handling procedures, assist with audits and provide workflow improvement recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, or a related field.
• Experience in insurance placement, policy administration or related commercial insurance functions.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Experience using ERP platforms.
