Project Lead Engineering – Project Management Professional

About the role

Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking a senior engineering professional to lead large‑scale engineering, construction and commissioning projects from inception to hand‑over. The role ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, monitor and close complex engineering projects, maintaining detailed schedules, budgets and resource plans.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams including engineering, procurement, construction and operations.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, developing contingency and risk‑management strategies.
• Manage contractors, suppliers and third‑party vendors, ensuring compliance with specifications and contracts.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships, providing regular updates to clients, regulators and internal teams.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations and environmental policies.
• Conduct project reviews, track performance metrics and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations and documentation for internal and external audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (Master’s preferred).
• 14‑16 years of progressive project‑management experience in engineering, construction and commissioning, preferably on large‑scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Solid knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes and regulations.
• Willingness to travel as required.
