R&D Lab Manager – Construction Materials

About the role

Kingdom Group of Companies is seeking an experienced R&D Lab Manager to lead research, development and quality improvement of construction materials in Bahrain. You will oversee laboratory operations, drive innovation in concrete and cement products, and ensure compliance with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead R&D initiatives to enhance product quality and performance.
• Develop and test new ready‑mix concrete mixes, cement formulations, and concrete block products.
• Supervise laboratory operations, testing procedures, and technical staff.
• Analyze test results and provide technical recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to optimise manufacturing processes.
• Ensure compliance with local and international quality standards (ASTM, BS, EN).
• Promote cost‑effective and sustainable solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry or a related field.
• Proven experience in R&D and laboratory management within the construction materials industry.
• Strong knowledge of ready‑mix concrete, cement technology, concrete blocks and aggregates.
• Familiarity with ASTM, BS, EN and other relevant international standards.
• Excellent leadership, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
