Reporter

About the role

The Reporter will research, verify and present information for news stories, articles, interviews and digital publications. Working across multiple platforms, the role creates accurate, balanced and engaging content that informs and captivates audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor current events, industry developments, social media and official announcements to generate story ideas.
• Conduct background research, fact‑check information and identify reliable sources.
• Interview individuals, organisations and experts, preparing questions, taking notes and incorporating verified quotes.
• Write, edit and refine news reports, features, breaking‑news updates and online stories in line with editorial standards.
• Research supporting material, update published content when new information emerges, and ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Collaborate with editors, photographers, videographers, social‑media teams and other media professionals.
• Produce digital content such as headlines, summaries, social‑media posts, newsletters and multimedia stories.
• Monitor audience engagement and emerging topics to identify timely coverage opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, Communications, English, Public Relations or a related field.
• Strong understanding of journalism principles, news reporting and editorial standards.
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and research abilities.
• Ability to identify story angles, conduct thorough fact‑checking and maintain accuracy under deadlines.
• Professional communication skills for interacting with sources and team members.
