Senior AI/ML Engineer

About the role

Yokogawa is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced artificial intelligence solutions for the oil & gas sector. You will work within a Project Delivery team to create dynamic process simulations, develop intelligent models, and integrate AI into industrial control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop dynamic process simulation models to evaluate multiple plant scenarios.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, data pre‑processing, and generate actionable recommendations.
• Implement classical machine‑learning techniques, soft‑sensor models, and reinforcement‑learning algorithms for autonomous plant control.
• Design AI models that diagnose plant upsets and support asset performance management across maintenance strategies.
• Leverage generative AI, large language models, and deep reinforcement learning to build multi‑agent systems for collaborative decision‑making.
• Ensure AI models are scalable, deployable, and integrated with PLC, DCS, SCADA, historians, EAM, MES/MOM, SCM, and ERP platforms.
• Maintain compliance with ethical AI principles, focusing on fairness, transparency, and bias mitigation.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor process and machine‑learning engineers, and promote best practices in data analysis and model development.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in AI/ML engineering with a track record of delivering solutions in industrial or oil & gas environments.
• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, capable of guiding cross‑functional technical teams.
• Experience translating complex operational challenges into data‑driven AI solutions.
• Commitment to ethical AI practices and sustainable development goals.
