Senior Consultant / Assistant Manager – Financial Services Internal Audit (Bahrain)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Consultant / Assistant Manager to lead internal audit and risk advisory engagements for banks, insurers, asset managers and fintech firms in Bahrain and across the GCC. You will work onsite with a top‑10 global audit and advisory firm, delivering high‑quality audit reports and helping clients strengthen their control environments.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audit engagements in line with Global Internal Audit Standards and local regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, walkthroughs, control testing and documentation for core business and support functions.
• Evaluate governance, risk management and internal control frameworks and provide practical recommendations.
• Prepare audit working papers, reports, observations and follow‑up reviews of management action plans.
• Perform regulatory reviews against Central Bank of Bahrain requirements and other relevant authorities.
• Support clients in enhancing operational effectiveness and compliance with AML/CFT, operational risk, finance, treasury and IT controls.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of experience in a Big 4 or equivalent global audit and advisory firm, focused on internal audit within the financial services sector.
• Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CIA, CISA or an MBA in Finance.
• Strong knowledge of internal audit methodologies, regulatory requirements and risk management.

Required skills

• CA (Chartered Accountant) or ACCA certification
• CPA, CIA, CISA certifications
• Additional certifications (CRMA, CAMS, FRM) are a plus
