Senior Director - Investment Risk

About the role

The Senior Director – Investment Risk will work closely with the Chief Risk Officer to strengthen the firm’s investment risk framework across a diversified portfolio that includes private equity, real estate, private debt and capital markets. The role provides independent risk oversight, supports strategic investment decisions and mentors junior risk professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead independent risk assessments for all investment classes, reviewing proposals, due‑diligence packages, financial models and valuations.
• Conduct stress testing, scenario analysis and quantitative risk assessments to gauge exposure and downside risk.
• Prepare and present risk reports, insights and recommendations to senior management and board‑level committees.
• Monitor, enhance and enforce risk appetite, policies, limits and governance processes.
• Analyse macro‑economic trends and market conditions to identify emerging risks.
• Collaborate with investment teams and risk stakeholders while developing junior talent.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; CFA, MBA or equivalent qualifications are a plus.
• 8+ years of experience in investment risk, investment analysis, private equity, asset management or investment banking.
• Proven ability to challenge investment decisions independently and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products and risk‑management methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
