Senior Manager – Airside Operations

About the role

The Senior Manager – Airside Operations leads the day‑to‑day activities of the airside department, ensuring the highest level of service to airline customers and compliance with Bahrain Airport Services regulations. The role combines staff leadership, operational decision‑making, safety oversight and financial responsibility to meet both operational and commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate and supervise assigned personnel, guaranteeing efficient daily operations that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Plan, review and implement airline‑submitted changes, providing clear instructions to staff and ensuring system compliance.
• Prepare and control the annual capital and manpower budget, taking corrective actions to keep costs within authorized limits.
• Maintain safety standards, produce monthly safety reports, and conduct regular meetings with airline management.
• Liaise with civil aviation and airport authorities on security, maintenance and airside development matters.
• Develop and sustain commercial relationships with airline customers, airport authorities and relevant bodies.
• Manage financial plans, control costs and exploit commercial opportunities to maximise airside contributions.
• Oversee accident and incident reporting, investigations and corrective‑action recommendations.

Required profile

• College degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Transportation, Business Administration or equivalent (high‑school diploma minimum).
• At least 10 years of experience in airside operations or airport work, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
• Completion of aviation‑operations related courses and comprehensive knowledge of airport operational standards.
• Strong command of written and spoken English and proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
