Setting Out Manager

About the role

The Setting Out Manager will lead the coordination of internal and external clients and the Setting Out team to ensure smooth project manufacturing flow, client satisfaction, and balanced quality and cost performance. The role supports divisional performance, drives efficiency improvements, and collaborates with production, procurement and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end setting out process, including material submissions, shop drawing development, prototyping and manufacturing delivery.
• Review and manage project programmes, schedules and client expectations, ensuring timely approval of drawings and cutting lists.
• Coordinate with production departments, verify material specifications, and clear variations with clients.
• Manage material procurement and planning so that all items arrive before production starts.
• Identify and process RFIs, source hardware accessories and optimise their use.
• Lead site surveys or arrange alternative setting out plans for fast‑track projects.
• Interpret contractual requirements, prepare project status reports and forward‑plan cutting list issuance.

Required profile

• Minimum ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in joinery setting out from site survey to production.
• Proven ability to manage a team of 15‑20 members.
• Strong technical and execution capabilities with problem‑solving on materials such as glass, acrylic, stone, metal and fabrics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a multinational setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk products.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
• In‑depth knowledge of joinery materials: timber, boards, veneers, laminates and hardware.
• Familiarity with FSC, LEED and fire‑resistance (FR) standards.
