Technology Resilience Manager

About the role

Bank ABC is recruiting a Technology Resilience Manager to give Group-wide assurance that the technology supporting its important business services can withstand, respond to and recover from disruption within approved impact tolerances. The role sits within Group IT as the first line of defense, setting standards, assuring conformance and reporting on resilience posture. It covers on-premises, cloud and SaaS environments, with ServiceNow as the system of record.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the Group IT resilience framework and standards, map business services to applications, infrastructure, data and third parties, and translate impact tolerances into RTO and RPO targets
• Define resilience requirements for new applications and major changes, conduct resilience risk assessments and track findings to closure
• Monitor compliance with resilience, disaster recovery, business continuity, outsourcing and cloud regulatory requirements (CBB, MAS, FFIEC)
• Own the disaster recovery framework, ensure DR plans and runbooks are current, design and govern the annual resilience testing programme and validate RTO/RPO
• Maintain the business continuity plan, set backup and restore standards, and set standards for disaster recovery in overseas units
• Support managed assets and configuration, drive ServiceNow ITOM and ITAM outcomes, own automated ServiceNow controls for production and DR parity, and monitor CMDB completeness
• Maintain availability and capacity standards, take part in post-incident reviews, and coordinate with Information Security on cyber recovery and third-party provider resilience
• Report regularly on resilience posture, key risk indicators and test outcomes, and support staff training on recovery procedures

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• At least 10 years' experience in IT, preferably in financial services or another regulated environment
• At least 5 years' experience in technology resilience, disaster recovery, business continuity or IT risk management
• Desirable: ServiceNow certification, CRISC or CISM

Required skills

• Knowledge of banking regulation and operational resilience standards (ISO 22301, BCBS principles)
• ITIL processes, especially configuration, asset, change, availability and capacity management
• ServiceNow CMDB, ITOM Discovery and Service Mapping, and hardware and software asset management
• Resilience patterns for on-premises, Azure, AWS and SaaS environments
