Application Sales Engineer - Metals & Glass

About the role

As an Application Sales Engineer focusing on Metals & Glass, you will work in a dynamic, applications‑driven environment to commercialise new technologies that drive profitable growth for Linde’s target industries. You will combine technical expertise with commercial insight to support regional business units and global teams, ensuring successful deployment of Linde’s differentiated solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of commercialisation strategies that leverage Linde’s technologies to generate on‑site and merchant volume growth.
• Support business units through customer installations, operator training, technical seminars and on‑site application activities.
• Deliver measurable commercial targets, contributing to volume growth, opportunity conversion and profitability.
• Coordinate commercialisation projects across functions and regions, ensuring alignment and timely delivery.
• Analyse customer data, operational parameters and process needs to create robust technical solutions and commercial proposals.
• Monitor industry trends, identify emerging opportunities and translate them into actionable initiatives.
• Operate independently with minimal supervision, managing complex technical and commercial situations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of industrial experience with a proven track record of deploying new or advanced technologies.
• Strong commercial experience in sales, marketing, B2B engagement or implementation projects; experience in industrial gases is a plus.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑influencing skills, with the ability to work independently and in multicultural teams.
• Willingness to travel approximately 60 days per year and fluency in English.
