Arabic Social Studies Teacher

About the role

The International School of Choueifat, Cairo is seeking a qualified Arabic Social Studies Teacher to deliver the SABIS curriculum and support student achievement. The role involves delivering lessons, assessing performance, and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Arabic Social Studies using provided lesson plans or develop plans based on pacing charts.
• Mark exams and assessments in line with departmental schedules.
• Discuss disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and Head of Department as needed.
• Implement the SABIS point system to maintain an effective classroom environment.
• Invigilate examinations and ensure a properly managed exam setting.
• Provide additional support to low‑performing students to improve motivation and results.
• Prepare students for external examinations by reviewing past papers according to the revision schedule.
• Perform ancillary duties such as testing, substitute teaching, organizing lunches and transport, traffic control, and other administrative tasks assigned by school management.
• Participate in student‑life activities (art, open house, physical education) in coordination with the student‑life coordinator.
• Attend training sessions to deepen understanding of the SABIS system and enhance teaching performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject or equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in Arabic.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to use MS Office applications.
