Associate Factory Manager

About the role

The Associate Factory Manager will lead a large joinery manufacturing operation of over 700 workers, overseeing display cases, bespoke interiors and other joinery products. The role focuses on improving efficiency, quality and capacity while aligning the plant with European manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance existing processes, propose mechanisation and drive continuous improvement across the production cycle.
• Oversee production planning, draw up schedules, allocate work and adjust timelines in liaison with shop‑floor supervisors.
• Optimize CNC laser, machining and other modern equipment to ensure consistent quality and productivity.
• Lead new product development planning, selecting machines, tools, fixtures and inspection methods.
• Raise manufacturing standards in housekeeping, health & safety, product handling and overall organisation.
• Increase capacity efficiently, improve product quality and resolve technical bottlenecks on the shop floor.
• Coordinate with Metal, Purchasing, Stores, Logistics and H&S functions to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage staff recruitment, performance, development and training for a workforce of 700+.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of experience managing large furniture or joinery factories.
• Strong leadership and man‑management skills, able to motivate a workforce of 700+.
• Deep technical knowledge of woodworking, joinery construction, finishes, timber, veneers and related machinery.
• Proven ability to implement Lean manufacturing techniques and capacity management.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in a multinational environment.
• Good planning, resource allocation and product development expertise.
• Familiarity with architectural joinery manufacturing and refurbishing machinery.
