Baker – International 5‑Star Cruise Line

About the role

The Baker will lead a high‑quality bakery operation aboard a Silversea cruise vessel, delivering fresh breads, pastries and specialty items that meet the standards of an international 5‑star hospitality brand. The role focuses on guest satisfaction, strict food‑safety compliance and efficient stock management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and bake breads, pastries and other baked goods according to company recipes and quality standards.
• Plan, requisition and manage bakery ingredients and supplies, including frozen bread products.
• Maintain product consistency, control waste and monitor food costs.
• Produce specialty items for guests with dietary restrictions and support themed events and cooking demonstrations.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, temperature monitoring and inventory control in line with public‑health regulations.
• Keep the workstation clean, organized and fully operational; perform equipment maintenance and report malfunctions.
• Assist with inventory counts, waste disposal and equipment accountability.
• Train and mentor new team members and communicate operational issues promptly.

Required profile

• Valid STCW95 certification.
• Minimum 4 years experience as a baker in an international 5‑star establishment.
• Proficiency in European baking techniques.
• Strong knowledge of public‑health policies and food‑safety standards.
• Physically and medically fit with high moral integrity.
• Excellent fluent English (verbal and written).
