Distribution Center Specialist – Operations & Cost Management

About the role

talabat is seeking a Distribution Center Specialist to lead cost‑effective operations and expansion of its DC network. You will work closely with logistics, finance and operations excellence teams to optimise processes, manage third‑party logistics (3PL) partners and ensure high service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver DC operations within approved OPEX and Capex budgets, owning cost levers across pallets, logistics, manpower and fleet utilisation.
• Drive cost‑to‑serve improvement initiatives and implement optimal DC‑to‑DSD scheduling.
• Monitor 3PL performance against commercial terms, SLAs and penalty frameworks.
• Lead DC expansion and capacity ramp‑up execution according to the approved Capex plan.
• Optimise route planning for last‑mile deliveries and improve productivity across picking, loading, dispatch and transfer.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, SLAs, training documentation and system requirement specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory standards and accurate WMS postings.
• Maintain effective stakeholder communication with 3PL, regional and central teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3‑5 years of experience in a fast‑paced distribution centre environment, preferably in 3PL or e‑commerce/quick‑commerce.
• 2‑3 years of hands‑on experience with a major Warehouse Management System (WMS) platform.
