Electrical Engineer

About the role

Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design, development and testing of electrical systems and components. The role applies electrical engineering principles to build robust and efficient solutions across various Hitachi product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Design, simulate and analyse electrical circuits, power systems and control systems for new and existing products.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and component specifications.
• Perform calculations and simulations to ensure system performance, reliability and safety.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers and project managers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Conduct testing, debugging and validation of electrical hardware and integrated systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during development, production and field deployment.
• Research and evaluate new technologies, components and methodologies to improve product capabilities.
• Prepare technical documentation such as design specifications, test plans and reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Experience in electrical design and development, preferably in power systems, industrial automation, automotive or electronics.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals, including circuit theory, electromagnetics and control systems.
• Familiarity with electrical components, sensors and actuators.
• Knowledge of safety standards (e.g. UL, CE) and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, strong communication and teamwork, and ability to work independently and manage several tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electrical CAD software such as Altium Designer, OrCAD or Eagle for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Experience with simulation tools such as SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink.
