Field Operator I - Oil & Gas Plant

About the role

Enerflex is looking for a Field Operator I to assist in the safe and efficient operation of a plant and support production targets. The role involves routine operational tasks under supervision, with effective communication with team members and supervisors to keep operations reliable and trouble-free.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in operating and monitoring process equipment in line with safety standards, and monitor and record equipment parameters in the field, reporting abnormalities to the Control Room Operator or supervisors.
• Support system start-ups and shutdowns, and assist in pressurizing and depressurizing equipment and pipelines when required.
• Check pressure, delta pressure, temperature and level gauges regularly and report irregularities.
• Follow instructions from the Control Room Operator or supervisors to maintain stable plant operations and support production optimization.
• Adhere to QHSE standards such as LOTO, PTW, TBT and JHA, and document tasks properly.
• Take part in training and reviews of operational procedures, and carry out basic operational and maintenance checks (daily, weekly, monthly) under supervision.
• Help prepare equipment for maintenance (isolation, draining, decontamination) and hand over information accurately and on time to the next shift.
• Report unsafe conditions, safely handle and top up chemicals, lubricants and coolants, collect samples as directed, and maintain housekeeping.
• Comply with Emergency Response Team roles, company HR, quality and HSE policies, and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Required profile

• Minimum technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical or Petroleum engineering or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Familiarity with plant equipment, processes and ongoing activities.
• Good English, written and spoken; Arabic is an asset.
• Remote site working conditions, hot and humid climate, long hours, vibrating platforms, different shift schedules and on-call availability.

Required skills

• General troubleshooting, problem-solving and information analysis.
• Basic understanding of Plant PFDs, P&IDs, drawings, Cause & Effect matrices and Fire & Gas detection systems.
• Basic understanding of maintenance management (work orders, preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance).
• Computer proficiency is mandatory; good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is required.
