General Manager – Academic Excellence Association

About the role

The Academic Excellence Association is seeking a full‑time General Manager to lead its executive team in Bahrain. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on management of programmes that support outstanding Bahraini youth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership, chair the Executive Committee and translate Board strategy into actionable annual plans.
• Design, implement and evaluate the Association’s programmes, ensuring clear objectives, success metrics and impact assessment.
• Grow and activate the membership base, recruiting members, alumni, mentors and volunteers while delivering a calendar of events, workshops and recognitions.
• Represent the Association with government bodies, universities, schools and partners, negotiating and managing sponsorship and foundation agreements.
• Oversee governance, compliance with Bahrain’s association regulations, donor requirements and data protection standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in education, management, public policy or a related field (master’s preferred).
• Minimum five years’ experience in youth development, education or the not‑for‑profit sector, including programme and team leadership.
• Proven track record of building partnerships with schools, universities, sponsors or government entities.
• Experience managing budgets, grants or donor funds.
• Fluent in Arabic and English with strong knowledge of Bahrain’s youth and education landscape.
