Head, Group Investment Risk Management

About the role

The Head of Group Investment Risk Management will oversee the investment risk of the bank’s portfolios across credit, market and liquidity dimensions. This senior position requires deep expertise in fixed income, sukuk and other asset classes to provide analysis and recommendations to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Define and review the investment risk appetite for the bank and its legal entities, establishing robust governance and approval authorities.
• Lead the review of investment proposals, assess credit, market and liquidity risks, and deliver risk recommendations.
• Monitor daily risk exposures, report on limit compliance, and produce risk packs for committees and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Investment Desk, Market and Credit Risk Management to ensure integrated risk mitigation.
• Develop best‑practice policies and procedures for KFH Bahrain International Legal Entities and maintain group reporting.
• Lead the Investment Risk Management unit, drive risk culture, and implement risk‑management systems and analytics tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Mathematics, Engineering or a quantitative field.
• 10‑12 years of experience in financial risk management and credit analysis.
• Professional qualification such as CFA, FRM, CQF, PRM or CPA is a plus.
• Proven team‑leadership and stakeholder‑management experience.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Bloomberg.
• Experience using Moody’s or similar credit rating systems.
• Knowledge of Fixed Income risk systems.
