Head of Advisory – Insurance Sector

About the role

Braxtone is looking for a Head of Advisory to build its practice as a trusted, high-growth regional partner to insurance-sector boards, executives, regulators and investors. The role covers strategy, business development, client delivery, the service portfolio and people leadership, with the candidate based in Bahrain and travelling regularly across the GCC.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the Advisory strategy, annual plan and three-year growth roadmap, own the practice P&L and turn market opportunities into a disciplined pipeline and forecasts.
• Originate and convert new assignments, build relationships with board members, CEOs, regulators and investors, and grow key accounts.
• Act as executive sponsor of strategic engagements, set up engagement controls and ensure deliverables meet consulting standards.
• Lead offerings across insurance strategy, operating-model transformation, claims, regulatory and licensing, governance and risk, digital and AI, M&A and restructuring, and build thought leadership.
• Design the resource model, recruit and develop a high-performing team, and use offshore resources where appropriate.
• Apply engagement acceptance, conflict, confidentiality and data-protection controls and collaborate with the Group's insurance, claims, assistance and digital businesses.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, insurance, engineering or a related field; a master's or MBA preferred.
• Typically 15+ years of experience, including at least five years in senior leadership, with a background in management consulting or advisory.
• Current or recent director-level experience in a Big Four, management consultancy, specialist insurance advisory or similar firm is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated insurance-sector depth (general insurance, life and health, takaful, reinsurance, broking or claims) and knowledge of GCC markets; a regional executive network and prior GCC/MENA consulting experience are highly desirable.
• Proven track record of originating advisory work, leading complex engagements and building teams.
• Fluent business English is essential; Arabic is advantageous.
