IT Support Engineer / Help Desk Technician / IT Administrator

About the role

An Information Technology department is hiring a full-time IT Support Engineer / IT Help Desk Technician / IT Administrator at entry-to-mid level. The role covers maintaining IT systems, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting employees with hardware and software needs and keeping the organisation's IT infrastructure running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first-line and second-line support for hardware, software and network issues.
• Diagnose and resolve computer, printer, application and connectivity problems.
• Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, operating systems and IT equipment.
• Manage user accounts, access permissions and system configurations.
• Monitor network performance and support Microsoft 365, email systems, business applications and collaboration tools.
• Perform routine updates, software installs and security maintenance.
• Maintain IT asset inventories, technical documentation and support records.
• Assist with data backups, system recovery and basic cybersecurity.
• Respond to help desk requests, coordinate with external IT vendors and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Basic to strong understanding of computer hardware, software and operating systems.
• Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365 and common business applications.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, VPN).
• Familiarity with user account management and IT troubleshooting.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and organisational skills, able to work independently or in a team.
• Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
