Ordnance Inventory Specialist

About the role

The Ordnance Inventory Specialist supports Naval Special Warfare Detachment Bahrain by managing ordnance accountability, ammunition inventory, transportation coordination, hazardous‑material compliance, and munitions sustainment operations. Working independently with minimal oversight, the specialist ensures mission readiness for deployed Special Operations Forces across the United States Central Command theater.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and maintain data in multiple databases, ensuring consistency and accurate cross‑referencing.
• Respond to customer and vendor inquiries using retrieved data.
• Compile, analyze, and report trends, deficiencies, and accomplishments related to ordnance programs.
• Research transaction errors, resolve issues, and route complex problems to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct extensive searches for information on unusual supply transactions and assemble reports.
• Review existing automated systems and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate handling, storage, and ground or air shipment of ammunition, rockets, mines, and other explosive components at Detachment Bahrain and remote sites.
• Process ordnance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, evaluating operational impact.
• Prepare schedules for transportation, storage, issuing, and receiving ammunition, specifying bunker or magazine locations.
• Manage all phases of hazardous‑material transportation by land, vessel, and air in compliance with international regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in logistics or inventory management of military ordnance.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Familiarity with hazardous‑material regulations and compliance procedures.
• Willingness to support deployed forces throughout the CENTCOM area of responsibility.
• Travel availability up to 30% of the time.
