Preparation Operator

About the role

Fives Services Gulf is looking for a Preparation Operator to support workshop operations in Bahrain. The role focuses on material preparation activities such as cutting, shaping, and staging raw materials to ensure smooth flow between workshop functions. The operator will also assist with stock control and issue materials according to work orders while complying with company policies and HSEQ standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform material preparation including cutting, marking, edge preparation, and handling of plates, sections, and other raw materials.
• Grind materials to remove sharp edges, burrs, and rough surfaces for safe handling.
• Operate preparation equipment such as CNC plasma cutter, band saw, and related workshop tools.
• Review drawings, specifications, material take‑offs, work orders and production priorities.
• Execute preparation tasks in line with workshop schedules and coordinate with warehouse and workshop teams.
• Manage material flow to minimise waiting time and support seamless workshop execution.
• Load, unload, move and position raw materials and prepared parts using approved lifting and handling equipment while maintaining identification and traceability.
• Monitor raw material stock, report shortages, and verify physical stock against ERP records.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and work orders.
• Familiarity with workshop safety and HSEQ requirements.
• Strong attention to detail for material identification, traceability and stock accuracy.
• Capability to work collaboratively with warehouse and production teams in a fast‑paced environment.
