School Counselor

About the role

The International School of Choueifat, Cairo is seeking a dedicated School Counselor to promote student well‑being, provide crisis intervention, and support academic success. The role involves direct counseling, collaboration with staff, and liaison with external agencies to meet the socio‑emotional needs of students and families.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group counseling, conflict mediation, crisis intervention, academic advising, and classroom guidance lessons.
• Maintain accurate student records, including referrals, support documentation, and intervention outcomes.
• Coordinate referrals to mental‑health services, after‑school programs, mentoring, and other support services.
• Manage behavior‑intervention systems and monitor student behavioral progress.
• Oversee attendance data, identify low‑attendance patterns, and design school‑wide attendance improvement processes.
• Identify, implement, and supervise community programs addressing socio‑emotional needs of students and families.
• Conduct on‑site visits with families to discuss attendance or socio‑emotional concerns.
• Facilitate workshops for families and staff on relevant socio‑emotional and community topics.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by school management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology; Social Work degree is a plus.
• Proficiency in English and Arabic.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in counseling or advising.
• Demonstrated professional behavior, ethical conduct, and accountability.
• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
