Senior Engineer – Projects

About the role

The Senior Engineer – Projects will lead complex engineering projects for Bapco Tazweed, overseeing design, construction, and commissioning of fuel‑retail infrastructure across Bahrain. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, ensure safety and quality, and act as the primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and monitor projects to align with strategic goals and delivery milestones.
• Review and approve engineering designs for compliance and quality.
• Establish quality‑control procedures, conduct site inspections and audits.
• Identify and mitigate risks, manage site activities to minimise variations and claims.
• Control project budgets, track expenditures and implement cost‑saving measures.
• Foster a cohesive team environment and evaluate personnel performance.
• Integrate regulatory and safety requirements throughout operations, maintenance and documentation phases.
• Manage vendor relationships across construction, pre‑commissioning and optimisation phases.
• Prepare and present weekly/monthly status reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• PMP certification.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Senior Project Engineer or Site Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of project‑management principles and the fuel‑retail sector.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and people‑management abilities.
• Willingness to work on‑site regularly, including outside normal hours.
