Senior Java Developer – Banking Applications

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise‑grade applications, APIs and microservices for an Islamic Bank in Bahrain.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java applications using Java 8/11/14, following OOP, SOLID and DRY principles.
• Build scalable backend services with Spring Framework, Spring Boot and implement RESTful APIs as well as SOAP/XML integrations.
• Create and manage microservices using JPA/Hibernate and modern API management practices.
• Design and optimise relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) database solutions.
• Implement multithreading, concurrency, and security protocols such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, SSO, TLS and PKI.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root‑cause analysis and provide application support.
• Utilise Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies for efficient delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 7‑10 years of hands‑on Java development experience, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of object‑oriented programming and Java 8/11/14.
• Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, microservices, JPA/Hibernate and API development.
• Familiarity with message queuing technologies such as IBM MQ and Kafka.
