Senior Overland Freight Operations Team Leader (Domestic & Cross Border)

About the role

The Senior Overland Freight Operations Team Leader will coordinate network and transport planning to ensure fast, reliable and cost‑effective movement of goods across domestic and cross‑border routes. This role reports to senior management and oversees a team of non‑professional staff, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate transport operation plans, draft route and load schedules, and maximise consolidation levels.
• Guide and coach the team to meet daily targets, monitor carrier performance and manage subcontractor standards.
• Track critical material shipments, establish emergency plans and coordinate customs processes when needed.
• Record resources and movements in the transport planning system and report performance metrics.
• Analyse delivery exceptions, resolve customer service issues and produce accurate reports.
• Participate in transportation projects such as service analysis and consolidation studies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the overland freight industry, covering both domestic and cross‑border operations.
