Setting Out Manager

About the role

The Setting Out Manager will coordinate internal and external clients and lead the setting‑out team to ensure smooth project manufacturing, client satisfaction, and balanced quality‑cost performance. The role supports divisional performance, drives efficiency improvements, and collaborates across functional areas to meet strategic plans.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project programmes, schedules and client expectations, ensuring timely delivery of shop drawings, prototypes and manufacturing outputs.
• Manage material procurement, planning and RFI processes so that all required items arrive before production starts.
• Lead coordination with production departments, verify material specifications, and handle variations and clearances with clients.
• Supervise the preparation and submission of shop drawings, cutting lists, loading lines and site working drawings.
• Conduct site surveys or arrange alternative setting‑out plans for fast‑track projects, interpreting contractual requirements.
• Prepare project status reports and forward‑plan schedules for cutting‑list issuance.

Required profile

• Minimum ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in joinery setting‑out.
• Proven ability to manage a team of 15‑20 members and deliver projects on time.
• Strong technical and execution capabilities, able to resolve complex material and detail issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for multinational collaboration.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk products (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
• In‑depth knowledge of joinery materials: timber, boards, veneers, laminates, hardware.
• Familiarity with FSC, LEED and fire‑resistance (FR) standards.
• Experience with material procurement, cutting‑list generation and shop‑drawing preparation.
