Switchgear Engineer – Power & GIS Specialist

About the role

We are seeking experienced Switchgear Engineers to join a leading petroleum and power organization in Bahrain. The role focuses on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high‑voltage GIS and metal‑clad switchgear systems.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot 220 kV and 66 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS).
• Install, test, and commission GIS units, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
• Maintain 33/21/11 kV metal‑clad switchgear, including circuit breakers and busbars.
• Interpret electrical drawings and schematics for installation and maintenance activities.
• Lead a crew of technicians, providing supervision and project coordination across multiple disciplines.

Required profile

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in GIS operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• At least 3 years of experience in GIS installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Prior work with OEMs or OEM channel partners.
• Strong decision‑making and leadership abilities.
