Transport Planner

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Transport Planner to join its Bahrain traffic studies team. Working under a Senior Transport Planner, you will contribute to the preparation of transport studies, reports, and QA/QC activities for a variety of infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare transport notes, statements, reports and site‑access appraisals.
• Analyse traffic survey data, perform trip generation and parking assessments.
• Run traffic models using VISSUM/VISSIM and conduct junction analysis with SYNCHRO or SIDRA.
• Produce drawings, visual aids and manage basic traffic surveys.
• Perform calculation checks and ensure compliance with Bahrain TIA, parking guidelines and BRDM standards.

Required profile

• Graduates or early‑career engineers with a background in transport or traffic engineering.
• Ability to work under direct supervision and follow prescribed methods.
• Familiarity with local regulatory and industry codes in Bahrain.

Required skills

• Proficiency in VISSUM/VISSIM traffic modelling software.
• Experience with junction analysis tools such as SYNCHRO or SIDRA.
• Knowledge of traffic survey techniques, trip generation and parking assessment methods.
• Ability to prepare technical reports, drawings and visual presentations.
