Wound Care Nurse

About the role

Amana Healthcare is launching its first facility in Bahrain and seeks a skilled Wound Care Nurse to provide expert assessment, treatment, and management of acute and chronic wounds. The role works within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal healing, patient comfort, and compliance with NHRA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate a variety of wounds, including pressure injuries, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds, burns, and traumatic injuries.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence‑based wound care plans.
• Perform wound debridement, dressing changes, and apply advanced products such as VAC therapy, hydrocolloids, and antimicrobial agents.
• Monitor wound progression, adjust care plans, and document accurately in patient records.
• Educate patients and caregivers on wound care techniques, hygiene, and complication prevention.
• Collaborate with physicians, physiotherapists, dietitians, and infection‑control teams to deliver holistic care.
• Participate in quality‑assurance activities, audits, and staff education related to wound care.
• Manage inventory of wound‑care supplies, ensuring proper storage and usage.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• Valid nursing license issued by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) in Bahrain.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1–2 years in wound care.
• Wound‑care certification (e.g., WOCN, WCC) preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Current CPR/BLS certification; ACLS is an advantage.
