Academic Operations Clinical Coordinator

About the role

The Academic Operations Clinical Coordinator provides hospital‑based support to the Academic Operations team at RCSI Bahrain. The role ensures smooth timetabling, clinical placements, attendance monitoring, virtual learning environment management and assessment processing, acting as a backup during training, vacation or sickness periods.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for RCSI Bahrain clinical students and affiliated doctors, handling queries and issues.
• Liaise between hospital staff, RCSI academic departments and Clinical Operations Coordinators.
• Monitor the generic Clinical Operations team mailbox and provide support to GP and Psychiatry module staff.
• Gather timetable requirements, configure and revise clinical placements in the InPlace system, and create bedside teaching timetables.
• Communicate changes in placement schedules, rescheduling and attendance to students, doctors and module coordinators.
• Monitor daily student attendance using the Clinical Attendance System (CAtS), validate excused absences and produce weekly attendance reports.
• Upload clinical lecture materials to the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and keep procedural documentation up to date.
• Assist with the creation and processing of hospital‑based assessments and exams results.

Required profile

• Experience supporting clinical academic operations within a hospital or university setting.
• Ability to act as a liaison between clinical staff and academic departments.
• Strong organisational skills for managing timetables, placements and attendance records.
• Familiarity with hospital‑based teaching environments and student dress regulations.
