Associate Factory Manager

About the role

The Associate Factory Manager will lead a large joinery production facility with over 700 workers, overseeing the creation of display cases, bespoke interiors and other joinery products. The role focuses on improving efficiency, quality and capacity while aligning the plant with European manufacturing standards.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance existing processes, propose mechanisation and drive continuous improvement across the production cycle.
• Manage daily shop‑floor operations, monitor workload of all sections and ensure smooth execution.
• Develop production schedules, allocate work with supervisors and adjust plans as needed.
• Oversee CNC laser, machining and other modern equipment to maintain consistent quality and productivity.
• Lead new product development planning, including selection of machines, tools, fixtures and inspection methods.
• Raise standards in housekeeping, health & safety, product handling and overall organisation.
• Coordinate with Metal, Purchasing, Stores, Logistics and H&S functions to ensure seamless operations.
• Select, train and develop staff to build competencies that meet business goals.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of experience in factory management within a large furniture or joinery manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership and man‑management skills capable of directing a workforce of 700+ employees.
• Proven ability to solve technical problems, manage capacity and implement Lean manufacturing principles.
• Deep understanding of joinery construction methods, timber, veneers, adhesives and finishing processes.
