Category Manager

About the role

The Category Manager will lead the development and execution of category strategies for Apparel Group in Bahrain. This role combines market analysis, vendor negotiation, merchandising, and performance tracking to drive growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business objectives, using market trends and customer insights.
• Participate in vendor negotiations, manage factory interactions, and ensure cost‑effective, compliant sourcing.
• Oversee merchandising, visual placement, stock rotation, and inventory levels to minimize stock‑outs and overstock.
• Analyze sales, margins, stock turns and profitability; adjust pricing, promotions and assortments accordingly.
• Lead a team of merchandisers, provide training, and collaborate cross‑functionally with marketing, operations and finance.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of experience in category management, buying or merchandising within retail.
• Proven ability to analyze data and improve category performance.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams and projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail or a related field.
