Customs Manager – Remote (Bahrain)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Customs Manager to lead our customs operations and international trade compliance across the organization. The role is fully remote, based in Bahrain, and reports to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement customs and trade compliance strategies.
• Oversee import, export, transit, and customs clearance activities in all relevant markets.
• Ensure accurate tariff classification, customs valuation, country‑of‑origin determination, and duty calculation.
• Manage customs declarations, permits, licenses, certificates and supporting documentation.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on supply‑chain operations.
• Establish customs compliance policies, procedures, controls and governance frameworks.
• Conduct audits, risk assessments and corrective action programs.
• Identify opportunities for duty optimization and tariff savings.
• Maintain relationships with customs authorities, freight forwarders, brokers, carriers and internal stakeholders.
• Drive automation and digital transformation of customs processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Law, Finance or a related field.
• 5–10+ years of experience in customs management, trade compliance or import/export operations.
• Proven experience managing customs operations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
