Maintenance Operations Control Manager

About the role

The Maintenance Operations Control Manager acts as the central liaison between the maintenance department and all operational units such as Flight Dispatch, Network Control, and Outstation Support. The role ensures aircraft are returned to service safely, efficiently, and in line with the airline’s reliability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate AOG aircraft return to service, ensuring safety compliance and minimal downtime.
• Liaise with Planning and Network Operations to optimise maintenance decisions and resolve schedule conflicts.
• Oversee execution of scheduled maintenance according to the Approved Maintenance Program.
• Monitor and close defects under the Minimum Equipment List, ensuring MEL compliance.
• Analyse reliability data to identify repetitive defects and support troubleshooting.
• Manage on‑board fly‑away kits to reduce service interruptions at outstations.
• Organise third‑party service provider support and act as the point of contact during in‑flight defects.
• Chair and minute daily Maintenance Operations meetings to track technical issues.
• Submit service requests to Type Certificate Holders and OEMs on behalf of the AMO.

Required profile

• Proven experience in aircraft maintenance coordination or operations control.
• Strong understanding of AOG processes, MEL limitations and approved maintenance programmes.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to lead daily meetings, document actions and drive defect resolution.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AOG handling and aircraft return‑to‑service procedures.
• Familiarity with Minimum Equipment List (MEL) compliance.
• Experience with maintenance planning and reliability data analysis.
