Mechanical Construction Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Construction Engineer will join a multidisciplinary team to plan, coordinate, supervise and execute mechanical construction activities for upstream facilities. The role covers the full project lifecycle from installation through commissioning and start‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise piping, static equipment (vessels, tanks, heat exchangers) and rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines) installations.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, method statements and ensure compliance with ASME, API, ASTM and Bapco Upstream standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, quality, HSE and commissioning teams to keep the project on schedule.
• Manage contractors and subcontractors, conduct site inspections and verify workmanship quality.
• Resolve technical queries, non‑conformance reports and support mechanical testing activities such as hydro‑testing, flushing and leak testing.
• Prepare progress reports, work packs, punch lists and completion dossiers while promoting a strong safety culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical construction within the process industry.
• Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM).
• Ability to manage contractors, lead site inspections and ensure HSE compliance.
• Excellent coordination skills across engineering, procurement, quality and commissioning functions.
