Preparation Operator – Material Preparation & Stock Coordination

About the role

Fives Services Gulf is looking for a Preparation Operator to carry out material preparation activities such as cutting, shaping, and staging of raw materials. The role supports workshop operations and ensures smooth material flow between workshop functions while complying with HSEQ standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare materials by cutting, marking, edge preparation, and handling plates, sections, and other raw materials.
• Operate preparation equipment including CNC plasma, band saw, and grinding tools.
• Review drawings, specifications, material take‑offs, work orders and align material preparation with workshop schedules.
• Coordinate material flow with warehouse and workshop teams to reduce waiting time.
• Monitor raw material stock, verify physical stock against ERP records, and issue materials to work orders.
• Maintain preparation records, machine logs, and perform routine checks and basic preventive maintenance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years’ experience in material preparation, cutting operations, workshop material handling, or stock coordination.
• Basic user of MS Office applications.
• Experience with ERP material transactions and stock verification is advantageous.
• Ability to read basic drawings, material lists, work orders, and material identification details.
