School Counselor – Student Support

About the role

The International School of Choueifat is seeking a dedicated School Counselor to support students’ academic progress, personal development, and emotional well‑being. The role involves delivering individual and group counseling, advising on academic performance, and working closely with teachers, parents, and school leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions addressing academic, emotional, social, and behavioral needs.
• Assist students in managing stress, anxiety, peer relationships, and self‑esteem, fostering resilience and coping strategies.
• Develop action plans for students needing additional academic support, collaborating with the Academic Quality Controller and Student Life Coordinator.
• Maintain accurate, confidential counseling records in line with school policies.
• Guide students through key transitions such as grade changes, school transfers, and post‑secondary planning.
• Collaborate with teachers, leadership, and parents to enhance community engagement and student well‑being.
• Design and support school‑wide bullying prevention initiatives, including awareness programs and early intervention.
• Contribute to staff development by sharing insights on student well‑being and behavior management.
• Participate in administrative and child‑protection meetings, offering professional observations.

Required profile

• Experience delivering individual and group counseling in an educational setting.
• Ability to develop and implement action plans for academic support.
• Strong record‑keeping skills with a focus on confidentiality.
• Capacity to assist students during transitions and post‑secondary planning.
• Effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and school leadership.
