Senior Engineer – Gas Distribution Network

About the role

Propel Consult is seeking a Senior Engineer to provide engineering support for the Gas Distribution Network (GDN) across maintenance, sales, and asset utilization functions. The role involves leading a team of engineers, overseeing capital projects, and ensuring 24/7 operational support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for GDN maintenance, gas sales, and asset utilization.
• Manage and monitor the progress of engineering work, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Supervise engineers in problem‑resolution, facility upgrades, and investment projects.
• Develop, manage, and implement major capital projects, including specifications, design, procurement, and contract finalisation.
• Ensure quality assurance of engineering outputs and maintain documentation standards.
• Participate in safety management activities such as Management of Change reviews and lead HAZOP studies.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing engineering teams and capital projects in the gas or utilities sector.
• Strong understanding of gas distribution network operations and industry codes.
• Ability to work under 24/7 demand and coordinate cross‑functional activities.
• Excellent analytical and cost‑estimation skills.
