Speech and Language Pathologist

About the role

Amana Healthcare’s new facility in Al Jasra, Bahrain, is seeking a qualified Speech and Language Pathologist to join its rehabilitation team. The role involves assessing and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders across all ages, ensuring high‑quality, evidence‑based care in line with NHRA and M42 standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence‑based therapy for conditions such as aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, stuttering and dysphagia.
• Conduct bedside and instrumental swallowing assessments.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians and psychologists.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers on therapy goals and home programs.
• Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and outcome measures in the hospital’s EMR.
• Participate in case conferences, family meetings and care‑planning sessions.
• Support training of nursing staff and caregivers on communication and swallowing issues.
• Maintain compliance with Bahrain health regulations and hospital policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Speech Therapy.
• Valid NHRA license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Minimum six years of experience as an SLP, preferably in a hospital or long‑term care setting.
• Experience managing adult neurological conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease or dementia is highly desirable.
