Superintendent

About the role

The Superintendent will lead the delivery of investment projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, cost and schedule targets. This position supports a client active in exploration, refining, storage, production, marketing, training and environmental initiatives across the Kingdom.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and financially control projects to meet time, cost and quality standards.
• Participate in Engineering Department Investment Programme meetings, advise on scheduling of high‑value projects and update programme revisions.
• Review project risks, approve mitigation plans and oversee risk registers.
• Ensure quality assurance of all deliverables, approve drawings, specifications, cost estimates and invoices.
• Chair HAZOP, MOC and PSSR meetings to verify safe and operable engineering designs.
• Scrutinise contract documents, attend Tender Committee meetings and sign variation orders within delegated authority.
• Recommend changes to company standards, procedures and engineering design instructions, and ensure proper documentation.
• Perform administrative duties such as performance appraisals, salary recommendations and personnel issue resolution.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing large‑scale industrial or construction projects.
• Strong understanding of risk, quality and safety management frameworks.
• Ability to interact with engineering, procurement and contract teams.
• Excellent decision‑making and leadership skills.
