Transformer Engineer – Power & Maintenance

About the role

The company is seeking a qualified Transformer Engineer to join its Bahrain operations, focusing on the maintenance and overhauling of power transformers and reactors for the oil & gas sector.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, tank reconditioning, and overhauling of power transformers and reactors (220 kV or 66 kV).
• Unload, load, and install power transformers and associated accessories such as OLTCs.
• Conduct physical inspections and primary testing (voltage ratio, magnetic balance, winding resistance, vector group, I.R./P.I. values).
• Handle ICT – interconnected transformer and reactor projects up to 220 kV.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in power transformer and reactor maintenance within utility or oil & gas environments.
• Experience with 220 kV or 66 kV voltage levels and ICT up to 220 kV.
• Proven ability to manage transformer loading/unloading and tank reconditioning activities.
